Erick Thohir Receives Public Relations Figure Award at WPRF 2024

Minister of State-Owned Enterprises Erick Thohir received an award as a public relations figure at the World Public Relation Forum (WPRF) 2024 in Nusa Dua, Bali on Thursday (21/11).

In his award speech, Erick emphasized that the public relations profession is currently facing situations related to misinformation, hoaxes, and free access for everyone to create content or information independently. “Check and balance is no longer a gap, for public relations who are having a big program, this is a challenge and I only say the word, “don't be afraid” as long as you say the right thing,” Erick said at the WPRF 2024 event on Thursday (21/11).

Erick also advised the importance of professionalism in a transparent manner from all programs that public relations have. He mentioned the need for public relations to always speak the truth and not have any hidden agendas when carrying out their duties.

WPRF is an event organized by the Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communications Management on 19-22 November 2024 in Nusa Dua, Bali, Indonesia. This event is a forum for professional public relations and communications practitioners in the world.

The 2024 World Public Relations Forum (WPRF) features a total of 37 international speakers and 41 national speakers in a series of events that will take place over four days. The forum is also attended by representatives from 22 countries, including Australia, Bangladesh, France, Germany, the United States, Saudi Arabia, Nigeria and South Africa.

The theme of the 2024 World Public Relations Forum (WPRF) reflects the evolving role of PR amidst the changing global landscape and highlights the enormous responsibility of influencing public opinion and behavior.

In the face of challenges and opportunities in the PR industry, WPRF invites participants to discuss innovation, ethical practices, and the strategic role of PR in society and organizations. The forum is not only a platform for dialog, but also provides networking opportunities that encourage professional development and cross-cultural collaboration globally.
